Unico Holdings

In April 2004, Cardinal, along with management, acquired Unico Holdings, Inc (“Unico”). Unico, based in Lake Worth, Florida, is a provider of private-label personal care products sold through major drug, grocery and mass market retailers throughout the United States. Unico manufactures and markets a complete line of personal care products. Post-acquisition, Cardinal has added significant value to the company by accomplishing the following:

• Competitive Acquisition.

  Cardinal was directly responsible for the acquisition of the personal care products division a leading competitor, which doubled its size in revenues and earnings.

• Senior Management Recruitment.

  Cardinal was able to recruit senior management with extensive industry experience, including a CFO.

• Plant Expansion.

  In order to accommodate the growth in business, Cardinal worked diligently with management on moving the company’s operations to a larger facility.
