Cardinal Growth is a private equity firm and alternative asset manager headquartered in Chicago. Cardinal manages over $500 million of capital. Through its main fund, Cardinal invests in equity and mezzanine securities in a diversified portfolio of later stage, lower middle market, and privately held companies.

Cardinal’s investment strategy is to partner with superior management teams in growth-oriented, opportunistic niches. Cardinal provides capital for leveraged and management buyouts, recapitalizations, strategic add-on acquisitions, industry consolidations, and internal expansions of companies. Cardinal is licensed as a Small Business Investment Company (“SBIC”). As an SBIC, Cardinal is eligible to receive low-cost leverage equal to 2:1 of investor commitments (“Private Capital”) from the Small Business Administration (“SBA”). Cardinal has successfully operated as an SBIC since 2000.

Family offices and high net worth individuals form the core of Cardinal’s unique Private Capital base. As such, Cardinal acts as an extension of their investment capabilities, offering extensive co-investment opportunities as well as the infrastructure and expertise necessary to lead and close these transactions. In addition, these investors are a tremendous resource for Cardinal as they provide valuable industry expertise and proprietary deal flow.
